Beginning in the 1970s and still thriving today in 2025, Norfolk’s vibrant glass art scene continues to flourish and enrich our surrounding communities while also captivating artists, collectors, and art lovers across the nation.

In 2025, The d’Art Center launched its first Glass Circuit Event in alignment with Chrysler Museum’s Perry Glass Studio Grand Reopening Weekend. The Glass Circuit Tour featured glass exhibits, glass demos, art activities, and free transportation that connected three venues – The d’Art Center, Chrysler’s Perry Glass Studio, and The Glass Light Hotel.

We had somewhere between 700 – 800 people participate in the Inaugural 2025 Glass Circuit Tour and are excited to make this an annual event!

This year, our Glass Immersed Dual Installation at d’Art Center will feature a Juried Glass Art Exhibit as well as an Artisan Glass Sale from both local and national artists. This installation will also outline the history of Norfolk’s Glass Scene, as well as the history of the Studio Glass Making Movement. The Juried Exhibit will highlight a unique and diverse range of glass artworks while the Artisan Glass Sale will provide functional and decorative glass pieces for sale – perfect for both seasoned and new collectors!

This Dual Installation will be on exhibit March 21st – April 18th, 2026 and will be a destination on The Norfolk Glass Circuit Event, scheduled Sunday, March 29th, 2026.

There are no theme limitation for works in this exhibit or sale – the installation’s goal is to showcase the work of contemporary glass making artists and pay homage to the glass medium. All items for the Artisan sale must have an identifying sticker with the seller’s initials and price. If the Artisan would also like to include an inventory number so that they can identify what was sold on their receipt of sale, that is also welcome.

Checks for sold items will be mailed out the first week of May, 2026.

NO FREIGHT SHIPPING PLEASE.

NO PACKING PEANUTS. Works packaged with packing peanuts will be returned immediately and not included in the exhibition.

Artists must issue pre-paid return labels for their works through UPS or FedEx. PLEASE MAKE YOUR RETURN LABEL IS EASY TO FIND UPON UNPACKING. We do not arrange shipping in any other manner. Works must have pre-paid return labels through FedEx or UPS to be returned which allows us to call for pick up as the Center’s insurance does not cover transporting work offsite to local shipping companies or the United States Postal Service, which is why the postal service is not an option for shipping. Clearly indicate any packing directions for return of works.

Because work could sell and not need return shipping, create an account with your shipper to ensure that you are not charged for return shipping until the label is scanned, OR keep your receipt to be refunded for an unused label.

Works should be shipped in reusable containers/boxes and packaging for return.

Works that do not include a return label, and/or works that are not picked up within one month of the end of the exhibition become property of the d’Art Center. Shipping or hand delivering your works means you agree to this.
