    SAT. MARCH 4…Virginia Symphony performance of “Pictures at a French Exhibition” at Chrysler Hall, featuring a mezzanine exhibit of paintings and drawings by d’Art Center artists:  “Pictures at a Norfolk Exhibition”.
    SAT. MARCH 11”The Time Machine”, a national juried exhibition of original wearable art…a rotating exhibit at d’Art Center’s International Harbor Group Gallery and the Chrysler Museum.
    Sketch-in (10Am – Noon) and Shoot-out (photography, 1 -3 PM)…at the Pagoda, 265 W. Tazewell St featuring the Governor’s School and Todd Rosenlieb Dance…Free and open to the public.
    THU. MARCH 16…Opening reception of “The Time Machine” at d’Art’s International Harbor Group Gallery featuring Governor’s School musicians Xavier Brown and Jonah
    Graham…at 5:30. Free and open to the public.
    MARCH 17, 19 & 21…Virginia Opera production of Puccini’s “Turandot” at Harrison Opera House, featuring the traveling exhibit of “Pictures at a Norfolk Exhibition”.

    $200.00/$190 for d’Art members     (includes a $25.00 supply fee.)
    All levels, Age 15+

    Beginning students learn basic wheel throwing with a focus on centering, trimming, and glazing, for making cylinders, bowls, and plates. Those with previous experience are welcome, and will receive one-on-one assistance from the instructor with more complicated techniques and forms. All supplies are included but an apron is recommended.

    Painting from Realism to the Abstract Form

    April 21 – May 26, 2017

    Intermediate / Advanced /  Ages 15+

    For the more experienced painting student, this class will teach students to see the abstract within the realistic work. Using acrylic paints, students will paint the realistic piece and then work towards seeing the abstract by loosening up and enjoying the creative process.  Supplies not included.  See supply list below.
