Great American Family Dog & Cat Photo Contest
For the fifth year the d'ART Center has partnered with the SPCA to promote the Art of Photography and the Love of Animals with the Great American Family Dog & Cat Photo Contest. Over 150 Dog and Cat photographs are on exhibit at the d'ART Center in the Selden Arcade from August 2 - August 30, 2008. Admission if always FREE.
Pet Parade Party ~ August 2, 2008
The Photo Contest Exhibition kicked off with the Great American Family Dog and Cat Pet Parade Party held Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 10-12 Noon. Hundreds on Pet owners and their pets attended the festivities, along with:
- Norfolk SPCA
- Virginia Beach SPCA
- Portsmouth Humane Society
- WAGS Doggie Daycare
- Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue
- Belle Adore Dog Tags &
- Rainbow Rescue
Master of Ceremony Bob Batcher made dogs and owners feel welcome as he kicked off the pet contests and award ceremony. Despite ruff competition judges: Chris Mandola/ Share the Experience, Barabra Fulp/ d'ART Artist and Scott Williams/ Selden Manager, picked the 2008 winners.
A special thanks to Care-A-Alot Pet Supply and WAGS Doggie Daycare for providing this years awards.

Get ready for next year! If you are an amateur photographer who loves their pet - submit your photo(s) in the Great American Family Dog & Cat Photo Contest. Photo Contest Entry Details:
- Entry Fee $5 per photo
- Submit 3"x 5" or 4"x 6" prints, digital images must be sent on CD or DVD.
- Include your name, phone # and pet(s) name on the back of each photo
- Include a self addressed stamped envelope. Photos must be available for reproduction
- Amateur photographers ONLY
- DOG(s) and/or Cat(s) photos accepted
- Extended Deadline for Entry: TBD 2009
